At the SuperValu National Tidy Towns Awards held in the RDS on 12th November 2021, Blackrock was named as Louth’s Tidiest Town, and received its 6th Gold Medal. The village was one of two shortlisted for the title of Ireland’s Tidiest Small Town, and ended up just two points behind the Overall Winner Ennis. Blackrock is now in joint 3rd position in Ireland, behind Ennis and Abbeyleix.
