Blackrock Village – St Patricks Day parade has Sound and Vision

st_patsThis years annual Blackrock Village St Patricks Day parade will be brighter and louder than ever as the theme is “Sound and Vision”. The organisers want participants to make an extra special effort to dress brightly and make as much noise as possible to make this year a year to remember. The parade has been going from strength to strength since it was reinstated just a couple of years ago after a long absence. The crowds have been thronging to Blackrock main street to see their local team or school wearing the green. “We want to make this the Big One” said organiser Conor Hughes. “While every other parade may go for a 1916 centenary theme we thought we might go with a Sound and Vision theme … Bowie would have loved it” said Hughes with a hat tip the musical legend.

Participating schools, groups, clubs or businesses are asked to register via www.visitblackrock.ie website or to contact Conor in BeatIt Music shop. The parade will start at 4:00pm from Cocklehill as usual and volunteers to act as parade marshalls are asked to contact Conor in advance.
