Learn to save a LIFE. CPR /Defibrillator training‏

“We have 2 systems operating in the Parish. The original Public Access Defibs ehic are located Ouside Centra, Outside Community centre, outside  Flanagans Petrol station on Dublin road, outside St Furseys school. They are all in locked boxes with  the key in a break glass beside the box. We also operate a Linked scheme with the National Ambulance service. We have another Defibrillator and we have a rota and we respond when we get a message from the Ambulance Control to a casualty with , a Chest Pain , or a Stroke or Choking , or Cardiac Arrest.

In order to give 24/7 cover in our area we need more volunteers. This week for example we had 6 callouts including strokes, chest pain and cardiac arrest. The same loyal volunteers are coming forward week in- week out and have helped your/our friends, family, neighbour’s and strangers when they needed help the most.
Please come forward. it is an “easy” thing to do and it will be one of the best and most memorable things you will have done in your life. Next training session on Thur 1st Oct @ 6-9.30 .Venue Legion of Mary Hall sandy Lane Blackrock. Training is free if you agree to go on Rota perhaps 1 day or 1 night a week. If not interested in Rota course costs 30.00 for residents of parish. Phone Joan at 0866069210 to book a place – Thanks Joan”
