Founded in 1969, Rock Celtic FC has been at the heart of the Blackrock community for over 50 years, providing football opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. As a volunteer-led club, it promotes teamwork, respect, inclusion and personal development, helping young people build confidence, friendships and a lifelong love of sport. 

Reflecting the goals of SDG 5: Gender Equality, Rock Celtic has played an important role in expanding opportunities for girls and young women in football. The growth and success of its girls’ teams demonstrates the club’s commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender, has the chance to participate, compete and develop their potential. By creating a welcoming environment both on and off the pitch, Rock Celtic helps foster equality, leadership and positive role models, strengthening the sense of community that makes Blackrock such a special place to live.
